I could use some help guys. Just got the game, having loads of fun playing. Im stuck on mission two. Mission states to patrol around Shoku island or something like that. Did that and sunk a crap load of stuff including about 30,000 tons of cargo vessels. Im out of torps and can not get a mission complete. Any advise would be of great help. Thanks in advance.

Return to a submarine base(blue anchor)and refil NOT end patrol!
And return to the patrol area.

You have to patrol within 50NM of the star for 48 game hours. When I'm out of torpedoes, I just park on the star and sit on time compression until the 48 hours is up. The map won't update by itself, you need to zoom or change to a different view momentarily to get the star grayed out.

I have sat right on top of the star for more than 48 game hours and that did nothing. I will try going back to refit then returning to patrol area and see if that works.

BTW is there a way to check your fps in this game?

You need to send an update to HQ when you arrive at the patrol post and after 48 hours of sitting there.

Last I knew, you had to stay with 60 nm of the star for 72 hours. There was a thread on this a while back... lemme see if I can find it.

Edit: Found it. John Channing posted here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=118125&highlight=patrol+star+mission), suggesting that you take a look at this (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=111509) and that (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=108931). Even I was wrong (go figure)... 55 nm for 48 hours, supposedly. I imagine that's consecutive hours, btw... no sneaking off. I think the timer resets once you leave the area.

You see;it takes 3 to tango!
The sum of the 3 tips should be the total solution:
1)report on arival
2)forfil mission(in case you need more kills and your out of fish refit at harbour)
3)Wait untill star turns grey(in and outzoom to see)
4)send in report when "3" is done.
5)return home and get wathever you want...(drunk,lay...eh sorry:oops: )

If it said engage merchant shipping, you need to sink 10000 tons to complete the mission. You must stay close to the star and sink the 10000 tons.

BTW is there a way to check your fps in this game?

Ctrl+F8 will give you the fps...

Thanks for the replies all. Was able to complete the mission by going to surface while in a 75m radius x-mitting my report, then submerging again. Turned on time compression for about 2-3 days and got my grey star.
