And thats how we're going to sink, like a tank!
Trying to sneek South of Scapa, DDs everywhere! Got one on our tail so lined her up and took her out. She tried to avoid as could see the bubbles on the surface, but we caught her in the Engine Room I think.
Another krept up on us, a DD with twin gunned turrets in closed mountings. Rammed us but I go out of that one, lined her up and took her out. One in the Engine room and another in the rear magasine.
Two destroyers coming from behind but a good 5minutes away.
Two more behind them but allot furthur away. No doubt I'll have some to my front.
Not gonna down without a fight...wheres the Luftwaffe when you need them most eh? :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn:

Im not lying to you guys.
But it got worse.
ALLOT WORSE!
Kept going on through the area hoping to get through. Ended up loosing all my eels but indeed got 2.
However sometime after there were 2 large destroyers (the covered twin turrets) 1 medium, 1 armed merchanct.
Much hide and seek.
Evenutally thought Id make abreak for it, slowly moving south. Byt now I had 6 enemy warships hunting me, taking it in turns to pass over certain areas.
We got mawled. Rudder Destroyed, 31% Hull, depth charges dropping every few minutes but I sat it out and made it out. Two did break off and find me again but God was on my side lol.
Surfaced and made for ahead full. Only to realise that said Rudder was gone and we'd be running aground somewhere on the West coast of Holland I think lol :P
Hurricanes id attack but never fired a shot :S But yeah went abck to a previous save, (dies again and again during that lol!) cos in real life would of just adjusted the port proppeller speed and slowly curved it.
Stay outta shallow water
Stay outta der Kanal
Stay outta destroyers way
Stay outta trouble
Stay outta outta
Stay . . .
Funny...
I tried the south route once...did not make it.
Then I switched to the west route. I make it all the time in AND out...at least early in the war. Have not tried from 1942 on...
However, I PREFER Loch Ewe myself...

I'll take good care of her for you - she is sure to be very vulnerable in the mourning process

Scapa flow is by far the easyest port to raid in my opinion, jsut take the way in that herr Prien used.

I dont have a screenie to prove it, but i have seen German Bombers in Scapa before.
Im pretty sure it was Vanillia SH3...and not GWX.
But i remember being very surprised to see the aircraft in the sky to be German!

Hartlepool and Dunkirk are in my own opinion. Plenty of room to manevour and plenty of ways to get home.

I they look cool like a masterpiece of enginering and make a heck of grumbling sound; they are german. If they look like paper planes in the skies and are in a hurry for a tea-party, then they are tommies! :smug:
Also you can try to identify the flags or other air force markings ;)

Yeah cos the Mossy and Spit wernt masterpieces. 109 pilots swore by the spit wishing they had one.

the best WW2 plane with a propellor was a spitty with a BF109 engine (this is truly tested) and the germans wished they had the planns of a spitty long before the war started :know:

Yesterday I played Scapa (GWX 1.03). All was going perfect; decks awash as I crossed the sunken ships barrier on the east side; even a blind trawler didnīt see me at 1200m. But when I was in fire position at 2500 meters from the Royal Oak, all the lights in the world converged on me and later a rain of shells and bullets, which crippled my hull to 27%. I decided to die fightting and launched a narrow salvo; all four eels hit the target. Dive to periscope depth to be rammed, shot and depth charged.
I donīt know why, but getting near the east shore of the bay the escorts seemed to lose my trail. Perhaps were they afraid to be blown with their own depth charges or were fully incompetent? Finally I managed to crawl towards the east entrance (the same I used to enter). Nobody pursued me:o :o . Al last, surface and ahead flank... The Knightīs Cross (and a new Uboat) is waiting for me.:yep:
