Replace the following text into Commands.cfg:

[Cmd261]
Name=Report_weather
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F250006
Key0=0x57,c,"Ctrl+W"

What keys do you hit for weather on SH IV?

Unaltered SH4? None.

Do what -Pv- said above, and you'll be able to hit Ctrl + W to get a weather report.

Or you could add a new button to the orders bar on the bottom of the screen to do just that.

Just add a new button with the Report_weather command to the first station. Just edit Data\Menu\Cfg\OrdersBar.cfg . I think it's pretty intuitive how to do it. If it's not, just ask.

Thank you, -Pv-, I have added your key0-line, and now it works wonderfully!

Hi maeream m,

Your advise seem very accurate, are you a game designer for Silent Hunter IV? Because i saw your others posts and they were very precise and usefull for me. By the way i would like to change the accuracy of the japanese destroyer on surface end the other too (light cruiser, heavy cruiser, battleship) because when i surface my sub (in vanilla , no major mod install) they have a really hard time to hit me end i have enough time to dive and evade their action. So i want to improve that. May be there is a major mod who do this ? Excuse me if i'm not in the good thread for this question. I'm beginner in posting tread so...;)

Thx for the answer

No, but he did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night. :up:

You could always surface and use the mark 1 eyeball weather assesment tools.

I was once in a bad storm so bad the rain caused the visibility to not let you see much farhter than the front of the boat. I asked for a weather report and was told partly cloudy. So I wouldn't rely on the reports much.

Oh come on, it was sort of right...;)

You must have caught the World report and missed the local. :rotfl:

the reports, are they for the immediate area you're in, or is it a larger more general area?

the weather conditions are decent. there's a lotta thunder, but no lightening:cry:

It's quite apparent now the weather report is much degraded in 1.3. It was always dead on in previous patches. I'm getting the impression the report is what the weather WILL be eventually when the fade in-out routine is done with it.

I always thought it was for a large area that you were in as quite a few times I'd have 20 foot waves and the weather report was winds 4 meters and overcast. lol

Yeah the lightening was in SH3 and I miss it in SH4. There are quite a few things that have been left out but thats another shameful story.
