I've decided that I need a new monitor and want a nice widescreen LCD. Anyone know the specs I should be going for? It's main use will be games and i've heard only a few are good for gaming.

Too late i just got one. :D

22 inch HD LCD, has DVI input, 3 slot USB dock, IPOD dock, SD card reader and speakers and mic including a little sub on the base. (won't use the speakers as I have creative 6.1 Inspire)

It has a 5 m/s refresh time which i read was good for gaming. You want either between 4m/s to 16 m/s.

Bad plan. Without knowing it, you probably bought yourself an 6 bit panel. Incapable of anymore than 256,000 colors. The 8 bit panels do 16 mil.

Here is a link to the one I got, doesn't say what bit the panel is on the specs so I don't know.

The price says US$430 but I got mine for Au$430 (Big differance in conversion) so I'm pretty happy either way. At least I know I haven't been ripped off... yet...

22 inch, 1680x1050's are a pretty good buy right now. Color saturation and panel uniformity are probably terrible, but you can find 22" LCD's for $280.
