Hey everyone.

I've had SH3 for a yr an half. Got the seawolves expansion pack and patched upto 1.4. It works ok on my PC rig but when I installed it onto my new laptop (Rock CTX Pro with Vista, Pentium 2.4 duo core, NVidea 512mb graphics, 2GB RAM) and tried to play, it told me I need to have admin rights to my account! Well I do have admin account as the comp has only one account! Is this a Vista thing?

Also, in all my time playing SH3, I've yet to find a single Battleship, Aircraft Carrier, or Heavy Cruiser on my patrols. Even when I've sneaked into Scapa Flow or another Naval Base?

Anyone have any help on my q's?? If you thanks in advance for sharing!!

I'm running on Vista, I had to install the game, patch it for Vista and hope it works, if it won't run after that uninstall the game and re-install it. The patch will stay on the computer.

Well it didn't take long to slam on x1 I see :dead:

fed5487 if you do a search here on x1 and that expansion pak you will find an overwhelming disaproval about it. It is considered by most to have stolen mods for resale.
Anyhow 1st if you want capitol ships consider one of the mega-mods like War Ace or GWX.
Vista on the other hand - try this as it works for the software I support at work;

a) Open "Computer"
b) Open your local "C" drive
c) Open "Program Files"
d) Locate Ubisoft folder, right click and go to properties.
e) You will see a security Tab. Click it.
f) Now in this window you should see a Tab for Editing permissions near the center.
g) click edit - you will most likely be asked for permission to continue (Windows Vista UAC)
h) Now you will see a two pane window with user accounts atop, and permissions at the bottom.
i) In the users (top box) locate and select/highlight "Users"
j) Then using your mouse in the bottom pane click "Full" for permissions.
k) Apply - OK - try to run the game.

yeppers...with GWX you will find plenty of heavies. I have already sunk 3 Battleships, 3 Heavy Cruisers, and the Hood 4 patrols into the war! The Hood was in port, the others were all in convoys.
