Japanese Sub Plane Carrier

I just ran across a Japanese sub docked at a port, one of the subs that carries the airplane up front on deck. This is the first I've seen of these and yet when I sank her I got no credit in my logs for doing so? Is this just an Easter Egg or what? Are there no regular Japanese subs in this game at all, I've never seen one come to think of it?

I've recently downloaded a doco concerning Japanese Aircraft-carrying Subs, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Perhaps this is one of those?

The I-400 or Sen Toku(or Doku?) class sub.

I believe he spotted a Doku. I saw one of those at Tokyo, I think it was. I dunno, it was 4 months ago.
