Earlier today I found an old CD very old... belonging to one Scatman John. I was just a kid when he was singing but I remember he was all the rage. Especially Scatman's World and Scatman. Two of the most popular tracks in school, especially, among the boys.
I have the tune to Scatman in my head now having heard it. He was rather similar to Slim Whitman I heard in as much as he stuttered when he talked but not when he sang. His music was certainly love or hate, but, I think he was pretty cool. He was no spring chicken either when he hit fame, was in his early 50's wasn't he?
At least he didn't do a Buddy Holly, and he hit the bigtime before he died. So got to enjoy his success before the cancer took him.
