Hi,

Finally I'm in 43 and you were right. Americans kicked my ass hard but after few hours of depth charging and few days of putting my boat back together to keep it afloat AND later after some precise hits from aircrafts and another few days of fixing it while crawling back to base I've made it! Flak Vierling is great as during that patrol I already had C/3 conn tower. Without it we would rather die...

Can you see any use for 3.7 Flak? I've loaded up just to check it out and sorry thx. Against my escort DD - no results, against AC couldn't check it but I guess it's not a granade that explodes on a given height?

Now the problems. I got used to Biscaya Kreuze being left for a sure doom on my conn tower during diving (I've read a book how delicate it was...) but the radar is a complete joke. It rotates inside its compartment so it sticks out of walls. Diving doesn't help. It just stopped rotating. This looks stupid! Metix is not that visible but I can't live with that radar!

Can I edit it with Minitweaker? GWX1.03 (hmmm maybe my Longer Repair mod causes it as it changes basic.cfg but there is no positioning in that file AFAIR).

For the 3.7 flak really the only use it has is shooting at small floating targets against planes its quite useless as it only shoots one bullet, albeit at quite a high velocity. If you are deadeye... you can seriously scuff up the engine of an attacking plane with it though and then watch it plunge.

The radar will stick out of the housing sometimes, but it shouldn't be rotating while you are underwater. Might be worth trying the game without all Mods disabled and rolling back commander (if you use it) and see what happens.

I'll give it try tomorrow, damn fast computer and this game still takes sooo long to load...

The radar doesn't rotate underwater, it sticks out through the housing walls as it was on the surface. Just tried and stopped it in a position that it's hidden but hey, I've got a radar to use it! Either way it should retract from the housing before using...

As to the Flak - vierling is a serious sh... + 2x C38 it produces a nice firewall! It's a pitty that we cannot split the fire between different targets. When there are 2-3 attackers the only way is down... 1 plane doesn't stand a chance.

Oh I know what you mean, well, that is just a minor hiccup, you can retract and extend your radar by pressed Shift+R and that will pull it down into the housing. Sometimes it will retract and stick through the housing though. I thought you meant it rotated underwater.

When you extend the radar using shift and r, it goes up onto continuous sweep.

Thx for a tip but it's not working. I'll check my cfg's but I'm using gwx + my modifications so it should work or maybe my fav dials f... up something? I can live with that, my last toying with the radar brought Illustrious over my head but my T3 didn't get him :know:

Girl, ure sure this is stock GWX? ;) I've checked my backed up cfg and nothing is bind except plain R - for radar room. Can you checke commands.cfg to what is bound shift R ? TIA
