Greetings, All,

In case you haven't heard, "Rescue Dawn" is the real-life story of Lt. Dieter Dengler, a U.S. Navy pilot who was shot down over Laos during the Vietnam War and miraculously escaped from a POW camp. The film is now out in theaters in a limited release, with a wider U.S. release in 2 weeks. I saw a Film Society preview recently and was not disappointed!

We've all seen POW movies before (for ex., "The Deer Hunter") but this one's different -- it really happened. Thanks to Christian Bale, Steve Zahn, & Jeremy Davies for exceptional performances (they literally starved themselves to look the part!) I think you'll find Lt. Dengler's courage, determination & resourcefulness under extreme pressure quite inspiring. Here's the IMDB link:

Hmm IMDB gave it an 8.7 / 10

Sounds like a good movie to watch will look out for it.

Thanks for moving the thread (whoever did it) -- I didn't spot the separate category until after I'd posted. And thanks Avon Lady for the links!
