Oh, how can you be so callous? The poor thing just isn't respected enough! Even babies have feelings! Have you no heart? This is just one more example of people refusing to understand how hard it is to raise children! Why, in movie theaters and libraries and restaurants everywhere I go there are children crying and running around. Does it bother me? Of course it does, but I've learned to respect their feelings and not say anything. Of course I'm now suffering from three ulcers and recently had a heart attack due to extremely high blood pressure, and am also being treated for several mental abberations, but do I let that bother me? And before anyone gets on the 'oh you can't do that, sociology trip', it's exactly what dogs do with their puppies, and what cats do with their kittens. Nobody accuses cats and dogs of being abusive parents, because it's a perfectly natural way to control a youngster, who is too young to have any understanding other than 'ouch, that hurt, I guess I'd better stop doing that'.

While there's nothing wrong with necessary spankings, there are children who can be constantly unruly due to reasons other than being spoiled.
