I just picked up SH4 patched to 1.3 and was really let down that I cant interact with my crew like in SH3. They respond (sort of ) to my clicking on them but despite looking better than in SH3 they do less. Please tell me there is a mod to restore the crew interface ( or give me hope that it can be done)?

Can the 2 major mods T maru and Fleet boat be combined, or is that unnessesary?
Thanks

1) Nope, sorry.

2) Nope, sorry.

In fact I would hold off on any mods until you get a heads up from the creators that is is compatible with 1.03. Watch the SH4 Mods Forum.

It was a nice feature in SH3 to be able to interact with the 3D crew. It is also implemented in SH4, but on a submarine basis (only on some of the submarine classes) because there was never enough time. SH3 had a development time of 2.5 years and SH4 only had 11 months.

So, it's not a technical impossibility and will be done when all other more important features are completed.

Hope your right!

Crew interactivity (or lack of it in this case) was a HUGE step backward for SH4.

The boats seems quite lifeless and without soul compared to SH3.

Lets put it this way;German commanders interacted more familiar with their crew while US commanders, making only between 4 and 8 warpatrols, kept a certain distance.
Orders where given to lower officers and they "interacted" with petty officers and crew.:smug:

For me this is a way to handle the lack of interaction in the sim.

I never was really bothered with this. I find keyboard shortcuts to be much easier than having to graphically click crewmen and gauges. Hmmm...different strokes, I suppose.
