After a while away, I've started playing CAOD again, and I've noticed something that maybe y'all can help me with. The record player's volume seems to dwarf that of the environmental sound, be it the engines or the crew speech. Is there any way to essentially re-record the music at a lower volume so that everything will mix happily?

Thanks in advance for any input. If there's an easier fix than the above, I'd love to hear it, 'cause I can't give up the Aces of the Deep Theme or any of the other stuff, but I'd also like to know when someone spots an aircraft.

Never mind! I dug around in the control panel and discovered that lo, the MIDI volume was cranked relative to every other volume switch for some reason. Guess that knob goes to 11.

Whee!

Glad you solved it. Did not post before as I had no idea how to help, yet the idea of the Windows sound control panel went through my mind. However I thought it was unconnected to the game in that I did not expect CAOD to be able to separate in various channels sounds and music in a way that Win control panel could allow separate adjustment of them :p

Live and learn! :hmm:

To be honest, I wasn't entirely expecting it to work. Yes, they sounded like MIDI, but I thought to myself, "As obstinate as this game is from time to time, those are probably some sort of oddball format read by the WAV end of things."

Luckily, I can now listen to the record player and my engines (despite them cutting out on a regular basis...) All that effort's worth it to get back to that nightclub. :P
