Don't know if anyone else picked up on this but Time magazine is reporting the passing of Rear Admiral Eugene Fluckey who was nicknamed "The Galloping Ghost" who was the daring skipper of the U.S.S Barb during the 2nd world war.He was awarded the Medal of Honor and four(4) Navy Crosses.He was 93 yrs old at his passing..

RIP Admiral you were a TRUE AMERICAN HERO!!!!!......:up:

It is indeed very sad that Gene passed. :cry: I met him back in 96 before that dang Alztimers disease got him. He was one of the last "big" Icons (IMHO) of the Pacific Submarine war. At the time I met him, he was as sharp as a tack, full of information, and he seemed very happy. I'm glad I met him when I did, thats how I'll always remember him.
