I don't know if this has been posted or not, but be careful guys. Here is a new threat. I have already got a few of these. When I first got one, I wondered who sent it and clicked the link in the e-mail. It said the card failed to load and to download it instead. Well, the download is an EXE, and I knew right then is was bogus. I wouldn't be surprised to get more of these. :damn::x

A friend fell for one of these on Christmass. Because of the special date, he thought it was real. I read on a PC magazine that you should warn people you send virtual postcards to that you've sent them a card so that they know there's a real one somewhere in between the dozens of hooks, and ask for the same to be done with you.

Have had a lot of e-mails with titles that don't make any sense; any way of stopping these ?

I got a couple, but it has bad english in the writting, and this is coming from a company who creates and sends out cards, not an individual - clue #1, and clue #2 is that it is from an unknown person.

I must admit that they are creative people though. I think most adults would catch something like this, but children with access might be a different story.

Lol..dude..relax...I work on computers for a living...reformatting one takes less time than hunting for spyware or viruses...which despite your best intentions something will happen eventually "guaranteed"...either a virus/spyware/hardware failure or some othe act of God...My eggs are definatly not in one basket...if my computer crashed today I would be back up to par by nightfall....

In the case of my friend the e-mail was sent "automatically" by a "worm", so it came to him from a real address of a real individual that was a real friend of my friend, thus why he fell for it. So be carefull even with cards from known people. It may have been the work of a worm.

I get about 10 of these a day...

I simply do not open them because even if a friend or family member did send one, I think it rather cheap that they couldn't take the time to actually mail me the card. I don't know but something about actually writing your name and affixing a stamp says 'thinking of you' more than clicking send while in the middle of a morning yawn...
