I wanted to post, 'up front'... a big "THANKS" to the 'Mates that responded to my query about the topic. They gave me great ideas and the best hope for solving my problem. Really looking forward to those Blue WESTPAC waters...

Once last time... Thank You All

As a side note, I switch back to 7.5 and this seems to be about the best driver for me at the moment. Like I said, 7.6 was giving me CTD.

I think the 7.6's are crashing me as well. Changed from 7.4 to 7.6 yesterday, and couldn't get my current save to load..ctd after the "Please Wait" screen. Did a clean install this morning.. will report back.:damn:

Here is the oddity, I upped my RAM to 2 gigs. I had 1 gig previous. No issues with 7.6 with one gig. After the new RAM installed it started CTD. So far 7.5 is going good.

So, I went back and installed 7.5 drivers. Ran the 'Bungo Pete' mission from Capt. Amazing..I mean Ducimus..(Thank You for Triger Maru!!), and had no problems. BP even found me and was zig-zagging, and somehow I put out a spread he couldn't counter.. BOOM! (1800 yrd. and closing). Amazing thing was I actually think I saw guys dying on deck. They were like standing there assisting with the forward gun mount, and I swear, as the water rose and fire expanded, two of those poor souls folded over and went on to the next whatever.

However, loaded my last Campaign save, CTD. Too bad, because my last save was after killing a HIRU in a task force, in shallow water, and was trying to escape with like 5 DD's and a couple of HC's looking for me. This sim is alot of fun when things run right!

So, something changed between the time I tried to upgrade from 7.4 to 7.6, and I don't know what it was. Now my save is corrupt; won't load with 7.5.:hmm:

I'll figer it out 'ventually.

EDIT: Might be my wierd jumping around with driver versions?

This far I find that 7.5 is about the best. As far as your saves, save surfaced, away from other vessels and never save in port. For some reason this inhances the chance of a corrupt save.

Yep. Thanks. I knew that, but the situation was so cool, I wanted to preserve it. Now I gotta start over!!
