You installed the drivers that came with the joystick? I had the same problem with my old microsoft joystick, but a X52 should work just fine. :hmm:

BF UK Dedicated servers are the ones you look for.
IL2 : 1946
UK Dedicated 1 195.149.21.215:21000 v4.08m
UK Dedicated 2 195.149.21.12:21000 v4.08m
UK Dedicated 3 87.237.59.116:21000 v4.08m
these 3 server have 3 different Dificulty settings
1: Rookie friendly
2: Moderate
3: Hard
the server setting is dogfight,
but each side have Goals to complete
for example:
Team red (allies) have to destroy the German fleet in grid D-6
Team blue (German) have to destroy the Allied fuel depot in grid A-2
also a Tip:
do not fly on yourself, it will only get your plane been shot to bits
if you are a bomber just use the chat function and request some escort.
most people playing on the server are happy to escort you as you are the Number 1 target for enemy fighters. also if you fly a fighter stick to the others flying around they know where to go...and it will easier to take on a enemy fighter.
Enjoy! the server is very mature and dont tolerate chidlish behaviour or foul language, the servers are also very stable.
before I forget read the server rules before joining:
http://www.battle-fields.com/commscentre/showthread.php?t=4562 (http://www.battle-fields.com/commscentre/showthread.php?t=4562)
after that, when you joined the server and pick a side read the briefing room carefully so you have clue where the targets are and also which markings your plane has to wear in the game for example: blue side is Japanese so use the IJN markings
and the allies side is the US airforce use the USAAF or USN markings.
