:D
I used something called Setkey (q.v. Mods/Downloads) to change the function key "F3" assignment to an external view in the conning tower. That's neat !
I never cared for bumping right into the lens. It's so much more engrossing to move about in the conning tower. :smug:
...it's the little things that mean a lot...

Good point, Reverie!

I really dig the interior of the tower, too -- I reckon mouse-clicking my way in through the hatch is just as convenient. Still, during an attack run, I need to jump into the torpedo-control window & back again, repeatedly. I know there's a way to use the TDC panel in the conning tower, but it's a little too small for precision, IMO.

Tschuss!

I just tried it - wtf, there really is a modelled conning tower interiour and the game doesn't use it?! Fubar.

it is used, just not very conveniently. you can mouse click on the access to the conning tower from the command station and it will take you there

Yeah, that's what I ment by "I just tried it". Well, but if you click on it you just sit in there. The periscope doesn't rise etc. Again: Fubar. :arrgh!:

You can however open all torpedo doors there (at least in GWX).
I use it to fire 2 torps with different settings ie 1 mag and 1 impact

looney, I'm not in the sim at this moment, but can't we operate the entire TDC from that same screen ? I remember setting for spread pattern, once.

Schöneboom, what luck have you had working the TDC from Zentrale ? Is it convenient, or more hassle than it's worth ?

Hi Reverie,

I don't use the "miniature" TDC controls in the Zentrale or the tower, actually. But if I had a much bigger monitor, maybe...

Mach's gut!
