Personally, I think the Bush Adminstration did the right thing. Leaders in a terrorist organization are not usually critical, and relations with Pakistan are definitely more important.

Of course the story on Pakistan and terrorism as far as its relavent to this topic goes all the way back to the Soviet Occupation of Afghanistan when Pakistan was given permission and funds to support insurgencies there. It lead to the Taliban and of course any of the side treks associated with that regime. It doesn't matter which president was in power, it always seems that America's former allies turn into enemies or threats of some kind.

But I will say... if the Bushies made the right call on this its a first for them in the region.
