Waste Gate,

just give it up. You just have had another penalty time in the box. Neal just has warned you in public to stop your provocations, and I call it trolling, and you always try to make it appear as innocent and harmless. He just told you this is your last chance. I am very much sick and tired of you, of your attempts to raise troubles, and score a stealthy personal attack, and a personal discrediting here, and a hidden offending there, and your stupid babbling of which you seem to think that it is an intelligent reply, and I know from quite some people here and direct message exchange that I am not alone with that view of you.

And I am sick and tired of your endless attempts to sneak in my back and stab me from behind. But that won't happen, try to stab as long as you want. You do it intentionally, and for no other purpose than the act itself. Stop it. Don't move on. Let it be. I dare say that very many people here do not want you anymore, have enough of you. Leave us alone. Spare us your untruthful friendly grin, spare us your innocent shrugs, your pathetic excuses, your tactical decisions to launch a harmless thread just to wait and see some grass growing and sitting out the consequences of your latest stunt, before you start with your usual business again. Go away. You had your shows, nobody was laughing, nobody was applauding. Enough is enough. Let it be. Stop. Move away. You have stressed our patience long enough.

I am very reluctant to post in such a flammable topic.
I just wish to say that I think there is a issue that needs attention here and it would be foolish to ignore it completely.
Quite what should be done is, however, beyond me.

No need to apologise, you already did that in your first post! ;)

Guys, cards are on the table, period. No need to discuss. This is no usual debate, but a challenge. WG will either comply and leave at least me alone, or he will get kicked out, or I will get kicked out. There is an ongoing and potentially flammable issue, and it needs to be solved, finally, without continuing delay and laissez-faire and more second chances. I give myself a chance of 30% to survive this, and see at least as good chances for WG, maybe better. But since it is me who had to swallow the major share of WG's hidden sympathies in recent days, and before that, it is my decision if I accept that to continue, or not. WG obviously is immune to any hints, requests, warnings, complaints about his little mean tricks. I do not accept such behavior in real life, even less so when I am the target. Why should I accept it in virtual space?

On the we-us-our-thing - don't be childish. I would assume everybody knows what this letter is about. If not, feel free to step aside.

I know what the letter is about. I just think if it's you that has the problem you should say that instead of implying the entire forum is on your side (or his). Can't your argument stand on it's own without distorting it?

All I have to say: I find it pretty pathetic how much time some (supposed) adults spend antagonizing each other on a submarine simulation discussion board.

Speaking about pathetic, I'm nearing my 1000th post!

I did not. But I pointed at the simple fact that he has been found to be unacceptably confrontative several times now in the past, and if you check the threats where he participated you can easily see that quite some people were upset or angry or bored or opposing to him. Not because of his opinions but because of the devious games he plays. This is not just usual rethoric, this is meant to hurt, to score a cheap shot, to provoke, tom stir the pot. I could very well ignore his postings - if only he would not try so hard to adress and challenge and trap me time and again.

And here and now I say that such behavior should not be tolerated in this forum endlessly, and forever. I will not put one and the same person on the ignore list a second time.

Skybird,

I hate to say it, but it sounds like you can't handle anyone disagreeing with you or challenging what you post. Like it or not, alot of people here disagree with alot of what you say. And they can say the same of you in reverse when it comes to antagonizing. Disagreements happen in a forum...live with it.

Waste Gate is a moron, everybody knows that, and he will get himself keelhauled anyway, so why all the fuss?

This sounds an awful lot like a personal attack. Not very forum friendly if you ask me. Perhaps there are others in line for some keelhauling here. :hmm:

I don't think we are talking about disagreement here. More often than not I disagree with Skybird, but we are still on good terms and its the same for many other people here.

Perfectly put.

Honestly, if someone is affected that much by someone else over the internet, they need to get out more.

Good God, does no one think before they post?

Threads like this are severely detrimental to a friendly atmosphere on the boards.
Skybird, let the mods do their work. The modding on this forum is, on the whole, fair and reasonable. Users aspiring to be mods in threads such as these don't help matters.
I say "aspiring to be mods", but I mean the kind of posts/threads that seek to change the behaviour of other users, but without the obligation of impartiality that a mod is required to take.

We had a warning, an Orange Alert, and a reminder about OT. Isn't that enough of a signal against threads like these?

EDIT - It's hardly an open letter to the mods when it's completely addressed to waste_gate.

There are certainly people who post in this forum whose opinions I do not agree with, but at the end of the day it is a forum, where people can express opinions and comment on things providing they stick by the forum rules and don't upset anyone. I'm willing to bet some people don't agree with half of what I say too, and I'm not going to cry foul if that's the case, they might be right for one thing!

I certainly don't want to force anyone to shut up or stop challenging ideas and comments, because that's one of the main reasons for a forum to exist in the first place. In addition to which, if anyone is out of line, then there are moderators who can and will deal with the matter, and we have seen some recent demonstrations of these measures.

Clearly there is a personality/ideology clash at the heart of the issue here. Examples of previous posts which have offended you are all well and good, but at least one of the examples quoted was closed and resulted in a warning, so it does seem a little odd to rake it up again as ammunition when it's already been dealt with. And I don't think anyone could possibly read the opening post on this thread and not regard also that as contentious, in exactly the same way as the 'ignore list poll' was.

We are not the United Nations here, it is a general topics forum on a submarine sim fan's website. I think some people need to chill out a bit.

This thread, no matter how much I disagree or agree with the OP, is turning into a flame fest at a rate equivalent to KING's boycott all asians thread.

I'm stunned, a thread that I thought was one of the worst ideas possible followed merely days later (!) by a thread that matches its bad idea-ness.

Just end this thread, end it now, before more people are thrown into the brig and perhaps keelhauled! :nope:

I have refrained from feeding the bird but, this scares me.

if only he would not try so hard to adress and challenge and trap me time and again.

Don't address me, don't challange me? And don't trap me? How can one be trapped by the truth, unless what they say isn't the truth.

This scares me more than you might care to think. In the birds world he is the fountain of knowledge.

This is crazy wrong.
