Hi all, well I had to do it, sneak into Valletta & try to earn some renown! As I approached the island I was met with a small task force of 2 frigates, 2 destroyers & a corvette. Running silent at periscope depth I closed in on their Starboard side perfect for a quick 90 shot, and as luck would have it the last ship was a frigate, I calculated speed using 3 minute timer, manually set TDC for 360-20, distance 1.8k meters, I had a full load of fish & thought I'd send 3! One hit near the stern & down she went!

Just after I fired the torpedo's I dived to 120 meters & changed course 45 degrees to port away from the scene, we were all breathing heavy as a destroyer closed to around 600 meters then circled for a while & left, after about 30 minutes had past it was safe to surface & continue on our way.
Not knowing where mines or nets would be I plotted a course straight down the middle!

Then A visual sighting of a destroyer forced me to take her down to periscope depth, running silent, Hydraphone operator confirmed heavy DD trafic, on approach I put scope up just enough to break the surface for a second & check things out, then lowered scope again.

Getting close to the port & sea depth is now only around 20 meters.

Now I'm inside & there are 3 destroyers anchored next to each other I figured I would take these out or on my departure they may be active & waiting for me, closed to a good position I sent a torpedo to each, that's all it took!

Contact reports confirmed large moored ships further in:

so I proceed, depth 12 meters with only a few to spare:

Once in I get a report of depth charges & things get a little tense, however it turned out to be the Luftwaffe attacking a troop transport, one of my targets, lucky for me it was only lightly damaged but unfortunately for the pilot a destroyer shot him down, splashed down about 200 meters away, a little too close, and Johan soiled his pants,:dead: this made things even more uncomfortable!
To my port side I passed a Troop transport as I closed in on the damaged Replentishment ship, one shot from one of my stern tubes finished the job:

Then the other stern torpedo sent the troop transport down:

Time to leave:

I plotted a course out and as there were a few DD's on my port side I decided to exit a different way heading south once out of port, however I recieved minor damage to the bow planes as I ran into a net:

Then changed course & went out the way I came in, passed the net then carried on a course due south toward my patrol area!
Quite surprised that I never got pinged once, probably just lucky!
The End.
