Looks awesome...
Reece, latest ver works great but still 2 things: further away from the camera waves crash and look like empty small triangles positioned in rows towards the horizon. Not that bad as they tend to normalize after few seconds. More annoying is the horizon which looks great at the sea but in very heavy fog I can see a wall in front of me and high above there is a "sky". Same with far land which totally hangs in space. I think the distant fog is rendered too soon - pull your camera up, very quickly you see sector edges. Don't know if it can be tuned not to mess with a general awsome impression but reporting
North Atlantic, running to intercept a convoy, after an hour the rain was over, sun behind our back, high wave, perfect weather for hunting!

Always something!!:-? I've not touched the fog, I haven't come across fog for some time now, will have wait till I do unless you know of a mission that has thick fog?
Nice picture, it's because of the great Scenes with this version that keeps me working on it! hope you can assist finding a mission with fog!:yep:
Cheers.

No way mate as I only play career mode... but you can start one day a career, compress into open sea and make yourself a foggy, rainy save for future tests from time to time. With GWX there will be 0 visibility for sure (why I use stock weather).
Maybe someone else can suggest a mission!:D
I PM'd you for a test but only if you have the time.:yep:
Cheers.
@Reece
Does it push hard on your pc?
This mod makes no difference to performance!
Cheers.
I don't understand? This is SH3 right, not SH4? Also, what's different, besides the only IX in history to be stationed in the Med?

It only changes how the sea, waves, horizon, clouds, sun set/rise looks like as the file is called SCENE ;)

This and the Inverted reflection combined would go along way
to making the two games visually similar.

@ Tobus, this updated/modded SHIV Scene file is configured to work in SHIII, most of the bugs are out, doing tests on this fog problem & looking good, If you want to give it a go just go to my site link in signature.:yep: I was transferred to La Spezia, I do get to keep my boat, this is first patrol in Med but 13th patrol of this campaign.:D
@ Hadrys, thanks for doing the tests, I appreciate it!
Edit:
@ Mush Martin, could do, but I leave that in your hands!:yep:
Once I have finished the Scene project I'm taking a break, for atleast a week, and start on my next project!

Hi Reece,
This only works with the 8 Km atmosphere, right?
Being able to see the Mediterranean from my window, I must say that this Scene dat is superb:up: It really looks like the real thing, Reece, keep the good work:|\\
Thanks Hitman,:D and yes Irish, unfortunately there are too many problems expanding atmosphere to 16k, certainly not from the lack of trying!
I have done some testing in fog, thanks to Mush Martins missions, and have found no problem with the fog:

@ MM, the testfog1lt version shows as no fog, clear skies, maybe a little hazy, the navigators report shows light fog no rain:

At this stage I think that there is a problem with Hadrys' video card, I have sent a PM.
Could you post a sreenshot of the fog texture problem Hadrys?
Thanks all.

Sure I do have a screenie as I knew you'll want it :smug:

Problem is that ure watching from above and that it's fine... probably on the screen it's not that obvious but in game there is a cylindrical wall around and a cap has a sky texture on it. On this one the sky was low but usually it way higher. On your screen there is also just one solid color wall.

On this one fog worked very well, ships appeared correctly and when on PD your crew want help you shouting that 9000m away is something. If you can't see it ... oh well.

Not the best one but you'll know. There should be some sort of reflection of this sharp drawn land or it should be blurred by the mist or at least a shadow on the water. Here it's a scalped piece from the sky. Don't remember if this is not a stock bug. Fog is rendered to close and at sea it works ok unless you pull up your camera. Less important for me as I just don't go near land.
I wish I could put my finger on your problem, it is either video card, video settings, SHIII settings (Hi-Res), or conflicting ENV skycolor files, I took snapshots from high up as this would be where most problems show themselves, here is one from conning tower:

Can anyone else give suggestions?
