every time I reload a saved game made while submerged when load completes sub dive to the bottom (@ about 200 knots) and dies. there is NO way to stop it. I also have had it do it with a save made on the surface.
I am using GWX & driving an "uber boot".

system:
2.4 clawhammer cpu
2 gig ram
HIS ati 1650 turbo 512mg vid.
win. XP sp2

P.S. Have also had trouble with some of my "Oblivion" reloads.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank You .!.!

Well, Item 1: I'm not too sure how GWX handles the Uberboot... haven't tried that particular combination.

Item 2. Have you tried an emergency surface as soon as the game loads in, to try and "abort" the death plunge?

That's all I got for ideas. Some of the vets will have more, I'm sure.

It's called The Dive of Doom.

Don't save submerged!!!!
Or: near other ships
Or: within 40 kilometers of a port.

There's no fix for it.:nope:

....

You were doing 200 knots when you hit the bottom? Wow, I bet that *did* hurt :rotfl::rotfl:

J/K. I've never actually hit the crashdive of doom bug. I don't generally save while I'm submerged.

I saved my game many times while submerget and its work ok affter i reloaded the same save.
Like bigboywooly sad, you probably using the old version of SH3 weather. The reason is simple, during the reload of a save you weather parametrs drops to 0 and the game engine crach, wich means you Uboat is diving in high speed down and the game stuck :dead: .

Solution - download the leatest version of Sh3 weather and the problem will dessapire ;)

Sounds familiar. May this be the same issue as with the longer repair times mod ?
I have no problems saving and reloading the game when I'm submerged or/and enemy ships are near.

:damn: Thank you all for your sugs.
using: sh3 weather 1.5
gwx 103
commander 2.7
uberboot 1.4 beta 7z (?)

If it is the weather V. that is at fault, if I dont use (delete ?) it will this fix prob. ? what is the newest V. ? where ? to update instead.
am I supposed to reset (initialize) at the beginning of each patrol thru commander ? I usually load game thru sh3 icon instead of going thru commander.

P.S. I work a 12+ hr graveyard job & have to get some sleep some time so my visits to this site are sometimes eratic. it is NOT disinterest that causes gaps in my visits, besides I have to PLAY the game, TOO. so PLEASE bare with me. Thank You All VERY much..

There is a workaround for your problem. It only happens when the patrol that the problem occurs in started with a windspeed of 0km/h. The thing you can do to sort things out is to simply exit the game, re-run ShWeather specifying another windspeed (there should be something concerning the calmness of the sea among the parameters you're allowed to tinker with - go for heavy). Re-enter the game and the save should work now. It does the trick for me.
