Thanks matey:up:

I've experienced a few CTD's whilst playing the Luftwaffe campaign in BOB2 and hopefully this will sort it out.

Me too - also I get CTD's when trying to save replays.

Fingers crossed this'll sort it out, if it doesn't I can see me going back to CFS3.

This is the most unstable game I have ever played! With this new patch, it won't even start! And it claims that I might be able to fix this by reinstalling the game...which I have done now 3 times without any difference. The unpatched version is not better, CTDs at any moment, both on the campaign map and the simulattion itself! It is indeed a shame, 'cause I know that this game could be a very good one.....:damn: :damn:

Funny, as soon as I patched my BoB2 to the second to latest patch, I have had no CTDs. :p

Me too. Used to get the odd CTD with 2.05, but I haven't had one yet with the latest patch.

I had CTDs with the clean install, I had CTDs with the first patch, and the game won't start with the latest patch....

What's your system specs, Biggles?

Biggles,

Sorry about the issues you are having. When you end missions are you pressing ALT+X, which is the quit game key combo?

Have you installed the latest Dx9.0C? yes, Microscum has released several versions of DX9.0C and never renamed them. You may THINK you have the latest DX9.0C but may not. Microscum did another update as of June, 2007.

You can get it here:

or here (54MB download):

I can try to help you get this sorted here but it will be alot easier if you register at the Shockwave forums. There are many more of us there who can help.

In most cases we have successfully resolved the issues. In a few it turned out that something about the user's PC was inherently incompatible with BoB2 (for example a non DX9.0 compliant video card).

Can you post a DXDIAG of your system specs? if not sure how to generate a DXDIAG just post here and I'll explain.

Don't give up guys - there must be a simple reason for this. I mean, I have *never* had a CTD with BoB2 (2.06+) so it's not like the problem is with the game by itself. More likely as SeaVee says, a combination of things.

System specs:

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Intel Core 2 CPU 6400 2.13GHz
2.00 GB System RAM
Nvidia GF 7950GT OC
No soundcard (using the standard motherboard drivers)

That's all I can come to think of now...any obvious problem here?

Our systems are more or less similar, shouldnt be because of your rig.. :hmm:

PC specs seem fine although make sure the video and sound drivers are current.

Several users have had corrupted downloads of the patch(es). Rather than reinstalling the same patch you previously downloaded, try re-downloading the patches from scratch and then reinstall using those.

You only need the 2.06 patch, the 2.06.1 patch, then the optional Multiskin update (this last one is optional depending on PC's power and yours should be fine there).

Again please see my comments above about DX9.0C.

Before runnign the game do you turn off all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs? Symantec/Norton and BitDefender in particular have caused long load times and crashes for some users.

One mod I'd HIGHLY recommend is Bader's summer terrain mod.

Hi Biggles,

Glad its working OK now.

Can you tell us what appears to have solved the issues in case someone else is having a similar problem(s)?

Biggles

No idea really. I installed the game again, without starting it, I patched it up with the 2.06 patch, and then the 2.06.1 patch, and now it works. I also downloaded the newest Nvidia drivers, but it appears that I already had them. Could it be just because the patches? Was CTD a very usual problem in the first version?
