Well, I just recently got Silent Hunter 4, and also, I built a new PC. SH4 runs beautifully on max settings and 1280x1024x75 resolution. Theres only a couple issues I notice and it's either the drivers or the games compatibility with my video card in general. I notice when looking out at ships or land, it gets really stuttery, but, it's not frame lag at all. I loaded up fraps (note: I have vertical sync ON), and to my surprise, even when its stuttering, I'm gettin' 60-65FPS. My framerates max out at 75 (because of the vertical sync, with it off I can get higher but I notice a lot of tearing) when inside the sub constant. This also happens when looking right at my sub from external view, some stuttering yet my frames are still 60-65FPS or higher. I also notice around my sub and other ships, white lines around the edges when looking at the parts under water, basically like a white "tracing" around the waterline of any ship.

It must be driver or game support, because my system obviously has no problems running it.

My Rig:

Thermaltake Armor Full-Tower ATX (plenty of cooling, 2 120mm fans, 2 90mm fans)
Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe E6600 Processor @2.4GHz (combined 4.8GHz) 4MB L2 Cache (combined 8MB) (Dual Core :D)
eVGA 122-CK-NF63-TR Special Edition 680i SLI Motherboard
2GB (2x1GB) Patriot eXtreme DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) RAM
XFX GeForce 8800GTS 320mb 320-bit Video CArd (560 core clock/1700 memory clock)
Thermaltake Toughpower 700W Power Supply
Western Digital Caviar 250GB SATA Hard Drive 3.0Gb/s @7200.10RPM
Samsung SATA DVD+R Burner

By the way, all clock speeds are stock, so no artifacting or overheating is taking place.

I'm not sure if your duel cores have the download that optimizes them for games. Check the manufacturers website.

Not sure if there is anything in here, a thread from awhile back.

Maybe check the latter posts to see if there is anything there.

From your "specs" you sure have the "Sweet Rig" .... but just a thought , have ya tried to see what all ya got going running in the background ... App's like virus scanners , anti-spy-ware , tweak app's and even some XP services take up cycles from your CPU (and ram) And some network cards (that don't have there own processor) steals your "horsepower" too. You could also try "newer" video (and yes) soundcard drivers..... When's the last time ya did the de-frag thing...? that gives a boost to every proggie ya have on your drive(s) .... Just some idea's...for ya to try.....:hmm:
