Here's an odd glitch I was wondering if anyone else had come across. When I send the gunners up on deck to man the gun they demonstrate an excesive devotion to duty. By this I mean they will not respond to orders to leave the gun and neither will they go below. Worse than that, should you dive and then surface some time later, they are still at their post and voluntarily begin shooting at anything they can see. On a couple of occasions this over-enthusiasm has attracted the unwelcome attention of a destroyer with the result I have had to scramble to submerge and take evasive action or waste a torp on a target I had no prior interest in.
best wishes,

Hi Hazelwood,
An interesting occurence did you describe. It is new to me. If I have my deckgun and /or AA-gun manned and I decide to dive the respective spots in the crewmanagement screen turn to a whitish colour... meaning (I believe..) they are not in use any more. If I don't put the sailors back in a compartement they start snoring like a real sailor in the absence of a (C)PO. After surfacing I have to click on "man the deckgun and/or AAgun"" to activate the respective stations again and by doing so awake the crews.
I know this isn't very helpfull for you, but this is the way I experience your problem. I believe that the main thing is (like in my navylife) improvise where it is possible. I wish you smooth seas and rewarding targets.
