Not me personally but I have heard others with the problem.
Slow down and live ! :p
Your going to hear alot of stuff like 'dont save while submerged', 'dont save near traffic', dont save near land... etc etc.
I save in almost all of the above and have not had a problem yet. But I keep 4 seperate save files and roll through them just in case.
If all your Saves are hosed well nothing left to do but start over.
ps; Dont mistake long loading times for a frozen screen. The load times can be quite long at times.

I've had it happen. I try to save at various points with different filenames (Horst3a, Horst 3b, etc.) so I don't lose it all.
It seems to hapen msot often when I've played around with mods mid-career.

might also be the size of your save MB wise. i name my saves based on where i'm at, or if it's a refit then that location

My save game system is quite simple and reduces the total number of saves.
I have 4 saves (not including the in base autosaves).
x1, x2, x3, x4
If I loaded and am playing from save X1 then my next save will over write the oldest (x4) save. That way if X4 is hosed I can fall back to x2 which was not that much older than x1.
Always overwriting the 'oldest' save.
What happens to me is I tend to do 5 or 6 missions per patrol and the load times can become quite long indeed. I timed one at just over 10 minutes from when I clicked load and the "please wait" message dissappeard.
I just click on load and go get a cup of coffee (or dispose of a 'used' one).
