1. I have to pickout what version to watch. :hmm:
2. Fireup the bigscreen and surround sound.
3. Make some popcorn and ice down some beer.:yep:
4. Go to the Head and take care of business."run back & put dwn seat"
5. Get comfy in the ole recliner and shure enough within 15 mins some idiot is at the door trying to sell me some kinda junk I already have 3 of floating around the house. I finally run that guy off and just get comfy.
6. Gotta go to head again. "Jeez that beer went thru me fast."
7. Get comfy again and remember wife's NO.1 RULE. so I "run bk & put dwn seat."
8. Get comfy again and the movie going again and enjoying when
JESUS H. CHRIST the phone rings. I then have to waste 5 mins of my life telling this fool that no one by that name doesn't , hasn't and never will live here.
9. By this time I'm getting a bit smarter and leave phone off hook and put sign on front door "Nite worker Day sleeper DO NOT DISTURB" That should fix everything.:yep:
10.Finally I get comfy AGAIN got every anoiance taken care of and Zoink

I've decided to agree with Biggles. Since I no longer consider Das Boot to be "that good", I promise that once I get my stuff set up again I won't watch it more than twice a month, instead of a little bit every day.
And for anyone here who hasn't seen it...WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?:hulk:

Great books but a pretty crummy movie. I'm assuming you got the name from the books.

Well ofcourse! I belive that I have one of Stockholms biggest collection of Biggles books, they're rare, and of the 95 books written there is only 86 in Swedish:nope:
I'm quite surprised actually, you are the first one that I can recall that has even reacted to my name....

I've got a few of them myself. Those books got me into reading when I was a kid, never read a book that I enjoyed before them. Also started my love of aircraft. Sopwith Camel and the Spitfire will always be my favorite prop planes.

I can only hope you will treasure that collection and someday donate it to a library for all to read. Under supervised conditions of course not for checkout.
That way they can be enjoyed by others as you have.

Hm, well I have more than one of some books. Some of my books are quite old too...I think the oldest was printed in 1941. Oh, and the swedish libraries has withdrawn every Biggles novels 'cause some could find content in some of the books that might be seen as "rasistic". I heard this is pretty much the case in Britain too, since, for example, the germans was sometimes called "The Hun"....hm....well, the books was written between 1932-1968 so is that wierd in anyway?
Well, it's not really funny, and they don't print the books anymore, which makes me even prouder over my collection.:smug:

What is sad:
I saw that poster, and instantly the most annoying soundtrack of any movie I have ever seen came rushing back into my head. Oh god and the sound of the German weapon as well. I can't believe I still remember that movie... :nope:

Hi Biggles :D
And proud you should be of that collection. :yep:
It's a sad day when books that have brought so much enjoyment to so many is considered inapropiate by so few.
To Edit or outright ban certain books short change future generations.
And I don't classify these books as hatefull and bigoted.
They were written when the times were different.
Of course this is IMHO.:D

And the books was written for kids, by an old R.A.F flier, which made two things certain:
1. They were easy to understand and brought many boys into the world of flying (including me:D )
2. They were filled with interesting and, above all, true facts about aviation. Much of the stuff I've read about WWI aviation had I already read in the first Biggles novels.

Even tho my thread has drifted from trying to watch "Das BOOT " in peace I'm glad it's about books.
I collect discarded HB books and restore them and add to my collection.
Over 3,000 to the best of my memory. I don't use any dewey system I just know where each ones at if someone asks if I have it.
My wife worries if I get "KONKED" on the head . What then ?:p
