Sorry, it was probably million times but I can't find any link/info on that mod. Searching for DiD states it's to common, confused with simple did etc...

Maybe you have some suggestions about modding sensors.cfg because that's my point in looking for DiD. Escorts in GWX are quite easy to evade, 2 hours of game time is enough to outrun 3 pissed of DDs in shallow water and it's middle of 1941 now!

The only challenging thing that happened to me recently was a converted trawler jumping on my back in the fog, shooting precisely and also precisely putting few DCs into me after crash dive. But that was surely my fault to let it happen...

DiD is a way to play, not a mod, DiD means "dead is dead", that means when you're sunk you start a new career, instead of reloading the last savegame. I think a search in the SH3 mod section for "Improved Sensors" should lead you to the file(s) you want.

DiD that's the only way to do it!

I was searching something like you suggested but maybe it was only limited to main forum, no I'll give a try to CB AI mod (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=113452&highlight=improved+sensors), looks good.

I strongly recommend AGAINST using CB's sensor mod. It basically turns off all sensors except for one, throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

You can extend the "lost contact" time in the Sim.Cfg beyond 30 minutes to increase the enemy search times... however, much beyond that level will strip the convoys of their support altogether, as they pound your last known position.

Also, if you are playing using reduced realism/difficulty levels... increase those first.
The only true measure to get the most out of the AI and sensor modifications is to run GWX at 100% difficulty and at lower time compression levels.

Apart from that... there is nothing simple or starightforward about modding the AI and sensors in Silent Hunter. Its like trying to tie your shoes without enough string.

Thx for your input, good to know... Than I'll compare CBs cfg and probably want use it at all... I'm playing at 100% realism, evade escorts for some time and than, when things settle down I hit TC, so they go away, to max 64x. Now I wonder if it would make any difference to stick with x4 compression? At first they find me again few times more but than it's done, I'm safe again... quite easy. Most of the time bombs even don't came close enough to shake my boat! I don't use external view also to evade pursuit. Does it mean I'm so damn good or I should jump to 1944?
