historically its accurate though. several of the chitose types
were converted to carry and launch the mini sub.

strangely doctrine had it as part of open blue water battles.

It would be cool to have a simulator for that ship. Take off in the plane to check for enemy convoys, spot one, land back at the ship, jump in the sub and go sink em!

I dont think the aircraft either took off or landed on the ship.

They were lowered by crane into the water and lifted up the same way.

That's what the crane on the back of the ship and the pontoons on the bottom of the plane were for.
