View Full Version : Ship spotted-where?

Am I wrong-but do I remember in SH3-when your deck crew spotted a ship they shouted out the bearing also?

I just had a frustrating episode-my crew kept yelling out "ship spotted" but I couldn't see a ship anywhere. Shouldn't they ID it or at least give the bearings to it?
Also is there a control or mod that lets you match your heading to the view like there was in SH3?

Hit ctrl-v and there are mods for heading to view, RFB being one of them.

Strange my crew will tell me (if Im on the bridge)(If Im at 1 TC)

"Ship spotted 040 long range"... Raise the binocs look at 040 and there she is !

Maybe its a crew skill thing... maybe its a TC thing.

One thing that drives me crazy is when they start calling out 'ship spotted' and its a stupid rubber life raft

Now that I think about it, the ctrl-v combination might not be available in stock sh4. You may need to search for and get the keyboard mod in the mods forum. It will add all sorts of nice key combos like distance to empty gas tank :D

You can use +/= and - keys to match heading to view and vice versa. I can't remember which one is which (no manual in front of me). I believe this is listed on the keyboard reference (although it may only be on the back which has a larger list of key commandss).

This is part of stock SH4.

Here, here. I'm still waiting for a mod to remove that lovely little superflous touch from the game. I don't give a damn about lifeboats, nor downed airmen. I go out of my way just to bleed the life out of the bastards with my AA gun or deckgun every chance I guess, that's how much it annoys me to see 20 lifeboats flooding my navmap after a convoy strike.:x
