Learning Marxism is still mandatory in China's school but who cares (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-marx26jun26,0,5538811,full.story?coll=la-home-center)?!

Or maybe Hu cares. :hmm:

How anyone can sleep through their shenanigans is beyond me.

I made the mistake of studying Sociology at Sixth Form College and obviously that included some of Marx and Engel's stuff (even though with a Labour politician as my father, I'd come across it before).

The thing that annoyed me most about those studies though, was how it was covered, we'd spend three or four weeks covering so-and-so's theories, and at the end of it, it would be: 'But this theory is now discounted, in favour of...' and we'd be off again on studying someone else.

Sociology, what a waste of goddam time that was...

 What kind of Marxism do they learn?!

After studying Marxism at college, I would have considered it "dangerous" littarature for a government that rules by a form of dictatorship!

I assume they teach a censored version of Marxism.

I'm familiar with these 'political theory' courses via the Soviet curriculum of it. It was ridiculously boring by most people's reports, so it doesn't strike me as in the slightest bit surprising.
