I just started playing SH4 and decided to play it 100% realistic. So i found these forums while googling for submarine help ! Anyhow, i just wanted to say hi to everyone. Many of the posts have been very helpful to me, and i must say this place has a very cool community. So I just wanted to say hi, and ask a little question:

Is there a way to have anti-aliasing in this game ? everything looks perfect except the stair effects on the ropes and masts. Thnx !

Howdy! You can get anti-aliasing if you set it on your video card control applet before you start the game.

Welcome!

With the 1.2 patch you can force FSAA through the videodriver software.

I just wanted to say hi to everyone. Many of the posts have been very helpful to me, and i must say this place has a very cool community. So I just wanted to say hi, and ask a little question:

And I'm sure your question was going to be..."Are there any traditions that need to be adhered to for new members here?" And the answer of course is yes.

All new members are required to have a case of premium beer and a large pizza delivered to the home of Moderator John Channing. This act will ensure smooth sailing in the forum, as when John reaches the point of "shall I intervene in this thread or leave it alone", the beer always wins out. :D

Tnx for the welcome. As for the anti-aliasing, would anyone tell me what to do exactly ? Because i go in graphics option, and i can't see that option anywhere. Ive patched to 1.2 too so...

You need to access the control panel on your video card and enable your AA there. The game will use whatever is set there.

Well i went there, but i cant find any option called antialiasing. I have a Nvidia geforce 8800 if anyone has it and can tell me where to find that option i would apreciate. Im messing around with this for over 45 minutes now.

Hello Bleiz,

I have the same card. Here's what I've done;
-Rightclick on empty space on desktop
-select properties
-select settings tab
-below right select advanced
-select the g force tab
-start the n-vidia program
-select (left window) 3d control
-on the left window on top is the AA setting
-click on it to change

Cheers

Have you been to NVidia to get the latest drivers? I couldn't see your image post, it was fuzzy.

ya i have the latest drivers... its weird that you dont see it i see it fuzzy at first, but when i enlarge it i see it fine. It was just to show that i dont have the 3d option the guy is talking about. Also, I went in the help section of the nvidia control pannel and saw that they said the exact same thing Bando talked about... But i just cant find it. I just have to live with it :(

Try using the classic view for the Nvidia control panel. It should be an option somewhere in the screen you posted. It's easier to use in my opinion.

Or you can right click on the nvidia icon which should be near the clock on your taskbar (if you chose to have it there when installing)

*go to Quality and performance
*Anti-aliasing
*Set to x4 (Higher can cause the game to run slow so you may even need x2)
*Do a similar thing with ansioscopic filtering.

RUn game.
