View Full Version : Command gives out an intereseting objective.
This is what I get when trying to start a patrol:

What a nice order...
Tried transferring to another port - no effect.
Have Real Fleet 1.28 and Die Slowly 1.4 installed (although I'm pretty sure the problem is in the game itself).
Comments, suggestions?

We can't see your post..i.e. no picture. (EDIT) Fixed now...
Is this the first patrol of a new career?
Sounds like maybe the Patrol Objectives folder might be missing inside Campaigns.
Is this the first patrol of a new career? Nope, I started this career in June 1943. Have about ~10 patrols at this point.
Sounds like maybe the Patrol Objectives folder might be missing inside Campaigns. Prior to this error I didn't touch anything. Finished the patrol, recruited a few new crewman, reloaded torps (didn't even quit the game), try to start the next patrol and BAM...
Go into Data/Campaings/Campaign/Patrol Objectives and look.
I just removed that folder, ran the game, and I get exactly the same error messege.

Welcome:up: Mauz
Sounds like tater solved your problem.

No, solving it will be me giving him the zipped up folder I just made for him (stock folder) if it's really the problem ;)
It might also be a file that points at the folder, too. I'm not as clear on which UPC files do that, beery knows since he added some onjectives. It's possible a single file like that got corrupted, too.

I just removed that folder, ran the game, and I get exactly the same error messege. 233 folders with patrol objectives. I never touched them.
Plus if I start a new career or roll back to previous base autosaves and redo the last patrol while docking as soon as I start, the next patrol objective is given out fine.
So it's not that this bug is critical, since there is a possibility of a roll back. I just want to find out why it occurs so I don't have to cancel out any finished patrols in the future.
That says that the file it's looking for is missing or corupted, IMO. Doesn't matter if you didn't touch them, the game touches them, could just be a bad bit someplace...
Looks like it calls for an objective that isn't there.

Well, attempt a reinstall if you have not already done so. At present it looks like you have been assigned to a desk job:-?
