thunderstorms?

Just came out of a pretty heavy rainstorm and I was wondering-has anyone encountered lightning/thunder in the game?

No lightning...but plenty of thunder.

Don't really miss it much.....I just imagine that it's happening where i'm not looking. Perhaps somewhere over the horizon.

I've been in around 6 "Thunder" storms but never saw any lightning even in storms that lasted for days. Got lotsa rain at times.

I've been in the rain for about a month now and I've heard thunder quite a few times. Maybe an average of once a day (I'm not usually away from the navigation screen on those long trips).

Maybe it is related to the bug with ATI cards not rendering the 'halo' around the sun properly.

I have no halo around the sun, I see no lightning either.

Anyone else? ATI card display problem with lightning?

Running a NV EVGA 8800GTX and i have also never seen any lightning or sun halos.

Hey Captain... Heres a little Nvidia utility you might be interested in trying. I use it with my 8800GTX . Allows for a lot more adjustment... Maybe even something you could tweek to get the sun Halos back, I have them with my 8800GTX and can actually turn that effect on and off by adjusting some AA and AF setting using this.

Give it a try ...it really is nice.

Will it only show up if the environmental effects is turned on? I have enviromental effects on and dynamic fog on and have never seen lightning , only heard thunder.
