a damn zero passed over me after dropping a nice loadout of bombs and was making his way out, so I manned the 5/25 deckgun just for fun (not hoping to hit anything) and put the very first round on the pilotīs bowl of rice :o
Yes, I know is supposed to be an AA gun, but you canīt aim high with it and is so slow turning that I believe it was a lucky shot.
Besides, why there are no proximity fused rounds on any gun???? :damn:

In BF1942 I gained a small measure of fame as the guy who would shoot down your plane with the main guns of a DD.
Come at me from the wrong angle and you were a gonner everytime.

Perhaps its too early in the war? IIRC prox fuses didn't arrive until Midway...

Im in late 1944 actually... devs should take care of it, I suppose is not hard to do.

On the other hand, I don't think they issued AA shells to subs.
