my rig consists of
asus a7a 266e board
athlonxp 2000+
768 mb ram
radeon 9600
audigy 1
and im running win2k

has anyone tried to run sh4 on a system like that?
will it run at all (win2k)?
i donīt need 60 fps, i can play with some stuttering, tuned down graphics and long load times (i really WANT to play sh4 :-) =
any comments would be appreciated

My old rig...

Abit IC7-Max3
P4 2.8ghz
1 gig ram
XP pro
Raedeon 9800XT
1280*960

Play with all sliders MAX, all tick boxes UNchecked.

Game runs mint.

Someone actually running Windows 2K would have to tell you if it runs on that though, I got no idea sorry.

I run it on this rig:

Athlon XP 1700+
768 RAM
GForce 6600

Game's playable all the way up to 2048x TC where it gets choppy (higher TC only slows things down actually). Running about half the visuals and no FSAA/Bloom. Smoth as skils in normal battle conditions (just don't overdo it on TC with enemy convoys around).

Agree.

my 2400+ 1gb ddr 400 and gf 6600gt run it always over 10 fps in huge task forces, and 25 in open seas.

For a a game like quake or other shooter could be not enough but yes for a Naval sim.

I ran on a similiar rig - XP1800 (thats a 1.5 ghz cpu) with 756 Megs of ram and a 9600Pro 256. Only thing I was running XP. Game ran fine - like mentioned above I couldnt go more than 2048 (and that at about 7fps on the map but playable with some stutter). Detail sliders were mixed - just no extra special effects and the game looked durned good - still better than sh3 in my book. Only issue is I dont think 2k is supported - so good luck on that one. HW wise yes you can run it. Also = WELCOME ABOARD!

I'm glad someone is having luck with running the game on older hardware. It's playable but my FPS are in the high teens.
