Who originally coined the term "Axis -n- Allies" and did the Axis side refer to themselves as Axis... or did they considered thier team the Allies?

AFAIK it was Mussonlini who coined the term Axis for Germany/Italy in 1936. And I believe all members refered to it as such - Die Achsemachten in German if I'm not mistaken.

This treaty was forged when Italy, originally opposed to Germany, was faced with opposition to its war in Abyssinia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Italo-Abyssinian_War) from the League of Nations (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_of_Nations) and received support from Germany.
