Did any folks here in the UK saw last Monday's one on The Battle of Midway? I just got around to watching it, it was great and well presented. There is another one on WW2 this coming Monday all about Stalingrad should be good as well.

Back to Midway it's incredible how this battle swung one way then another and both sides trying to work out there enemy's next move and how a vital four minutes suddenly swung the battle in to the favor of America.

One question, is it true this Japanese defeat was kept a secret right to the end of the war in Japan?

One question, is it true this Japanese defeat was kept a secret right to the end of the war in Japan? I belive it was kept secret except from officers in the Military. As I recall a lot of civilons belived that Japan had taken control of nearly the entire Pacific untill the Empiror came on the Radio and told them to surrender (the 1st time most Japanese had ever heard his voice). :yep:

Saw the Midway one, very well presented as you said STEED, but missed Stalingrad...was that good as well? Wonder what they're doing next Monday?

Now watching Battleplan: Blockade on UKTV history, it's quite good, all about the various naval blockades over the years, at the moment focusing on the Uboat war.
