Quick Q: Does the XO check your math with the solution light? I have entered several solutions that resulted in hits but the light is always blank with "poor" written when I mouse over. Just wondering if the computer "grades" your work so to speak. Does the solution light come on with "good" if you're spot on, or does it always remain blank when Manual TDC is checked in realism settings?

I could be wrong, but I've never seen the light come on in manual mode. I think it is for auto TDC only.

Silly question, but where's this light you speak of?

Is it the button which turns red, on the lower right of the torpedo panel on the left side of the screen (by default)?

I only play on realistic settings, but that button can be enabled manually. When you do that, the computer automatically updates the solution based on the target's predicted course and your movement. In other words... press it!! Your solution will be out of date otherwise!

Now, if it's another light, I have no clue. Heh. Sorry!

Are you sure you're not thinking of the "Lock" button?

Manual TDC will not make the solution light change.

It wouldn't be so "manual" if it gave you an approximation of how good your solution is to the real thing would it? :p
