He put those innocent guys through hell the last year or so. I'm glad (was hoping) he got disbarred.

If I remember correctly, this guy was going to run for some political office. Luckily, this will put a stop to that too.
This is why District Attorneys should not be elected. The temptation to railroad some poor schmuck in order to make the voters think they're doing a good job is just too great.

Hey thanks, we love you too.
disbarred? this schmuck got off easy. Ruined careers, lives, reputations, and a strong sports program upon which kids had thier futures riding. He should be thrown into jail, hell make up some crackpot charge, it would be ironic justice to see this guys life ruined by abuse of the legal system. Couldnt happen to somebody more deserving.
What kind of a legal system has elected DA's anyway, it may be a paradox but that is very un-democratic imho?
now you've got me started

He still might go to jail. They are deciding if he should face criminal charges.

I wonder how many times this has happened in modern history and never got caught?
Ego, vanity, power, lie, lie, lie ... at least he told the truth when it was his turn to be in a court of law.
How come the judge didn't step in and say you have no case ... or have I seen too many Perry Mason shows?

August, this guy was appointed, he railroaded these guys to GET elected.
That is part of the reason that DA's should be elected. You at least have to have the ability to talk to people and appear fair.
Maybe that is my opinion b/c I am biased as all git-out. :)

the case didn't even go to preliminary hearing.
this is more about the gang of 88 and the mess our secondary education system is in today.
here is the best site (http://durhamwonderland.blogspot.com/) on the subject.

As a Duke student, I'm pretty happy that this went down the way that it did (though I'd be happier if none of it had happened at all). This guy didn't just mess with the lives of the lacrosse team, but all students that were on campus at the time because of the media attention. As far as I'm concerned, both he and Ms. Mangum (the accuser) should be in jail.

My thoughts too. Maybe it will happen, at least for the DA.

Well, Magnum ought to end up with at least a filing a false report charge, Lord knows I've done it when people have just made things up.
I'm sure that this has happened before, that is why we need a free and independent press (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19113485/) to report on the abuses of those in power, against those who have none, and those that do.
We've all seen it, or at least most of us have, and it is important to stand up and call a rat a rat, no matter what party affiliation.
Prosecutors, more than any other elected official, have the power to destroy and protect lives. It is a sacred duty they are supposed to uphold, especially in a free society. It is the only elected position in our form of government designed expressly around taking freedom from others.
