I just re-installed SH4. Decided to give Real Fleet Boat a try. I was just wondering does anyone else get performance slow downs mid game? I boot the game up, and to begin with I play at 1400x875 everything on except for fog and get 60ish fps. Then usually 30 mins later or so the performace will slowly dry up, and I have to uncheck 3 or so more graphics options just to keep a modest 30fps. I'm guessing this isn't Real Fleet Boat but just another bug to be addressed in 1.3. Anyone experiencing similar issues?

I had the same problem with my limited hardware, only 1.2 patch

from 20 fps it drop to 10 in open seas after some time, but i solved it diving at periscope depth and surfacing.

I donīt test it more because i donīt play a fully campaign never, only some training missions and mod testing .

the game is on the shelf waiting the last patch now.

Happens to me too but only when there is a cnvoy nearby or near a port

If you have 25fps all the time at least you have something to work with. When it varys so dramatically (I've had it reach about 90fps with most options on!) for no obvious reason it's damn frustrating. I find I'm constantly playing with the graphics options. :damn:

I have the same issue, mostly running smoothly on a high end system, all of sudden it get so slow, that it is nearly impossible to play. Looks like major memory leaks.

Same here.. When I go to my destination area I use aprox 3500 acceleration.
When I finished my mission and go back to base I can max use 1500 accelatation to keep my game playable. Also my framerate drops from 28 to 18 in outside view..

This problem starts roughly in the middle of my mission.. then get worse and worse.

I tried all posible things like turning of my radar whn returning home.. no joy

This really sucks bigtime

Hey, just a follow up on this.

I just changed nvidia drivers from 165.01 to 94.24 and for now (I just played a couple of hours) the slow downs have stopped completely. I get a good steady frame rate through out. I'm sure this isn't the solution for everyone and until I've had a few more hours on it I won't be certain it's worked for me. But it's maybe worth a try if youre using an nvidia card.

Eurrrgh! You are WEAK, I am strong. "I don't have any slow downs at all"?! Hmmm... I wonder why that is. :nope:

We don't all have NASA rigs mate.

I'm running it on a laptop! Centrino Duo T7200@2GHz, 7950GTX and 2 Gigs of RAM. It doesn't often drop below 30fps with v-sync on and that's at 1400x875 all options on. Not bad for a laptop though, huh?

Are there any programs you do not know about running in the background? I have found that to be the case with my system at times, especially virus protection (which I think in itsself is a virus).

There may be some remaining memory leaks. But I also found my mid-mission slow-downs stopped after I looked hard at my virtual memory settings and found them hard-set at about 2GB. Windows was calling for a minimum of about 3.2GB. I increased them to about 4GB and the slow-downs stopped.
