Now that I got your attention.

Read SUBMAN1 thread on Chinese tariff bill and look at my post and give some input.

Job loss is affecting world wide not just the USA.

Tell us what companys folded their tent and and have China make their goods and sell them back to you at a cost of lost jobs where you live.

Jobs move to where labour is cheaper. Meh.

That's a reasonable asumption.

But in the end at a higher cost to who?

I lived in a small town in New England where Goodyear made 95% of rubber soles for shoes sold worldwide. Since WWII, they provided high paying manufacturing jobs, and ran 3 shifts per day.

About 20 years ago, during Reagan's watch, they moved to China.:nope:

I lived in a small town in New England, where Cone-Blanchard made the top machine-tool in the entire world, the Conamatic. Since WWII, they provided high paying manufacturing jobs, and ran 3 shifts per day.

They are still struggling to hang on, but most of their business moved to Asian and Europe during Reagan's watch. :nope:

Luckily, they are doing a little better, but still far from their golden age.

We can all thank the Unions, Baby Boomers for their wonderful charge of the rains in the Mid-60s', and the trade tarriffs that keep the market artificially high. :damn:
