Hello,
I just installed the weather mod and I was wondering if you can delete it and go back to the original settings? I believe it is in the read me file that came along with it.
I havent got the chance to play and see how the weather mod works, but I was just wondering, should I choose to go back, there is a way.
thank you

hi Avatar:
You can only delete a mod if it has been installed with JSGME.
Or, if you made backup of the files the mod was going to replace, you can restore the originals.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that any changes should be made while you are in port, not in the middle of a patrol.
Other than that, CTD for sure!! ;)

thanks,
I went to the JSGME file in the main sh3 location and the mod wasnt listed, so I dont think I put it inside the jsgme.
I just downloaded the weather mod file and ran it.
I think it was a good choice. I got tired of going out to the atlantic only to have that huge storm hit again with no relief until I got back to the middle of the North Sea.
I havent played it yet, so I dont even know if it worked and I'm not at home now so I cant find out until tonight anyway.
Thanks for the info

If you're talking about SH3 Weather which is an external program and not a mod, it is advised in the readme that you should backup your Campaign files in case yopu want to go back to the original...

For future reference I would suggest only installing mods that are compatable with JSGME and in any event always create a back up copy of your game prior to adding anything

Oh-oh, I didnt back-up. I'll have to remember that for the future.
I think I made the right choice, though. And it cant be hard to uninstall and reinstall should I choose to do so. (i hope)
anyway, thanks for all the advice.

I had no luck with SH3 weather. It may have corrupted my sound files and it has since been removed. I changed from "seasonal" to "2x" wave height using SH3 Commander. Haven't seen a real wicked storm in a while. Good luck!

To clarify, SH3Weather is NOT a mod that can be enabled via JSGME nor does it require any pre-installation backing up. It is a stand-alone exe file that is installed directly into the SH3 base folder.

It backs up your campaign files before adjusting them.

Simply follow the included instructions re installing/uninstalling - that's what they are there for. ;)

Wise people always make a copy of the game folder before they install the first mods. That way you can always go back to scratch if you get tired of a certain mod. I will never understand how people actually start modding their games if they dont use some very simple insurance policies like this one.
