Torpedo doors

Is it possible to have all torpedo doors open at the same time? The reason I ask is that when attacking a convoy I open tube door 1 with the "Q" key at the attack periscope station, then click on tube 2, but when I do this I hear tube 1 door close, same goes for the other tubes. Am I doing something wrong?

Do it from the TDC screen,or from the command station or conning tower station

Yes, it is possible. If you open them from the TDC station.
Once you do that, when you are at the peri station, if you are with torp tube nbr. 1 selected, and you change tube with "Y" key, then tube 1 will close automatically, and so on. ;)

I think also if you want to see all tubes open at the same time, you'd select "salvo" on the TDC screen -- if you're shooting all at one target, that is. Then Q opens all the selected tubes.

Thanks Schoneboom. I don't necessarily want to fire all torps at the same target, but to be able to select a tube and fire my bow torps at different targets in quick succession without the need to open the tube doors before hitting the fire button, if you see what I mean.

Someone posted a long time ago IIRC that if all forward tubes are open, then opening a rear one may well mean a forward one closes. Or something like that :hmm:
Now Im gonna go and check when I get back home :lol:

If you select the tubes from the TDC, they don't close, you can open all of them, but for sure you knew this. ;)

I open all of them by right-clicking on the weapons officer, thenlook up to the torpedo switches and open them that way.
I sometimes go to the conning tower and control the switches that way, too.
Both will work.

Standard procedue on my boat since day 1 when attacking a convoy...

Select salvo I,II,III,IV press Q, all doors open simultaniously, then select single tube again as required.

Repeat for stern tubes, tubes? Type IX:up:
