New sub models

Basically, i choose the Asiatic fleet in 1941, and beging working my way up, and while i was based at java, i returned, and got offered a new sub, so i decided to trade in my Tambor, for this Gato, but, for some reason, im now docked at pearl, and it considers that my home base. So i load a save, and decline the offer. I then check my sub, and its a Porpoise ... WTF i think to my self. but i still smile as im still at Java, 2 missions later and im operating out of Australia (fremantle) and its my second mission out of Aussie, and i return after sinking the Yamato and kongo :rock: , and im offerd a new sub, so again i decide to take it, but wham! straight back to pearl. I could operate out of pearl, but there was a reason i choose not to in the first place, its too far off, and when you do find something, the green line on your attack map disappers, so torp attacks are basically impossible :damn: ..... so again i load a save and decline, but im still in my Porpoise, which i dont want, i want my gato, but dont want to go to Pearl, why does it keep doing this? or is there a way i can get back my green line so i can attack?

That sucks. Maybe accept the Gato (and get moved back to Pearl) and then immediately put in a request for transfer back to Asiatic? You can use the telephone sitting on your desk back at port to request a transfer, but it's not always allowed.

I'm using the Trigger Maru 1.2 mod, which includes a workaround for the "disappearing green torpedo track line" bug, which is apparently caused by crossing the international date line when sailing out of Pearl. They worked around it by simply changing the start point for Pearl to west of the IDL, and that seems to work for me at least. There may be mods other than TM that fix the same problem, but I'm not sure which if any.

Having your Tambor temporarily replaced with a Porpoise while awaiting the new sub definitely sounds like a bug, though -- maybe add that to the 1.3 patch bug report list? I'm not sure if the forced transfer on accepting the new sub might be intentional or maybe that's a bug too. It seems like they should at least tell you that you're going to be forced back to Pearl if you accept the new sub.
