View Full Version : Do smoke plumes always give away a ship's course?

With the GWX 16km mod in place, it is pretty easy at range to guess which general direction a ship(s) is tracking based on its smoke plume. My question is this ... is the smoke plume always generated relative to the ships motion or in high wind conditions might I see a smoke plume trailing across the bow of a ship instead of the stern?
Thanks.

From what I can tell, smoke is immune to the wind in SH3 and is yet another stock limitation. I've never seen the smoke blown forward of a ship.

To clarify, this is a stock SH3 issue unrelated to GWX.

can the GWX boys make smoke that goes with the wind?
turn off the stock smoke and add in new smoke?
