Some very wild weather (18m seas) has seen the bulk carrier Pasha Bulker run aground on Nobby's Beach in Newcastle (Australia) today.

Two other ships off the same beach had to be towed out to sea to prevent them from running aground also.

Just checked out your links on this, some amazing pictures and some scary weather too. My hat is off to the chopper pilot and winch operator managing to get the crew off safely in winds of up to 80 knots!

Do you think if it breaks up, the skipper will lose his no claims bonus?:rotfl:

:D Chock

On first reading I thought "Oh my God" ...that's just 10 miles away :o
Then I thought "Hang about....Newcastle is 10 miles inland of the Tyne" :damn:

Nine people dead, at least one major river flooding, more than five thousand people evacuated, huge tanker grounded. And I thought Norway's weather was ****ed:shifty:.
