HI are they going to add more "compartsments" "rooms" in the 1.3 update?? i do hope so:rock:  .

I do not think we will be looking at more rooms. Serious bugs to be fixed at this point.

i know it is not on the top of the to do list right now :nope: .we can only hope!

Perhaps it was in the works but the time limit to produce and get the games on the shelves looks to have precluded more rooms. It also produced a lot of bugs.

I don't understand people's fixation with lying in the captain's bunk staring at the ceiling or the radioman for long periods of time. WTF? :hmm:

Hey, i've nothing against a virtual tour through a Gato class, if i can't make it in person anyway.

Seriously, before adding more compartments, which won't happen, they could add more detail to the existing ones - that's after fixing the bugs associated with it.

Asking for more compartments seems like asking for a hell of a lot.

I would be really, reaaally happy to just see flood water in the existing ones. :yep: I'm no wizz but I just can't imagine it to be THAT difficult. I already brought this up before but I just think it's so NOT right that your damage managment screen says your command rooms 50% flooded yet you stand in there and it's bone dry! When I first played SH3 I was expecting this to happen. It didn't, and after initially being dissapointed I thought, ah well.. it IS an old game. It's bound to happen in the cutting edge sequel. But still, no water.

Surely there's a modder out there that will rise to such a challenge... :hmm:

You mean stuff like the radar's on/off switch seen to toggle and work.

Exactly

Having extra rooms doesn't add anything substantial to the gameplay (other than the "cool" factor) and takes away development time from other features that can be fixed/added/enhanced.

No chance at all of the Devs adding more compartments. This is a limited budget patch to fix critical game play issues within SH4.

I'm pretty sure it was Enigma Rising tide that first featured a full command room, it's great for immersion. All I can say is if the whole sub was implemented i'd visit every room regulary. I understand those who don't use it as it's not essential for gameplay but in SH4 all I can think about is my missing captains bed.

More compartments = never
Compartments filling with water = damn good idea
Bannanas in SH3 command room = made me hungry

Our Moderaters need to pm these newbies and explain how to READ RULES
and how to use SEARCH feature and also give a none post credit to move up their avatar. This will cure a problem that has bothered alot of members.:yep:

Hmm lot of people replied who didn't seem to mind. You will never stop repeated posts. Personally every new person who comes along is another person who is keeping the subsim community alive. Let's make them feel welcome not stupid. :yep:

Be careful what you wish for!!! IIRC, in about 10-20 posts from now you'll have a "Wild night in Bangkok" and you'll like that avatar even less than the bathing cap! At least that's how it was for me :hmm:

Gasp!!

Well, I've been thinking of making a donation to Neal and this great site. So, maybe I can get my own avatar. My dad served in ww2 and I have a nice pic of him in his uniform. I was thinking it would be my own tribute to him and his service to the US.

Look the best way to get rid of duplicate posts is to not post in them and let em sink to the bottom.

Nah, I think I'll stay, thanks. BTW, who appointed you pope of this dump?

1. The topic is in the header. Don't like it, don't read on. Your precious time is not wasted.
2. The forum isn't intended for "Seasoned" (basil? thyme?) old timers. It's for everyone in the hobby. New blood is a Good Thing.
3. 90% of the responses to the OP were OT, jokes, or butt-slapping. Which is a bigger waste of time--newbie questions, or that stuff?

I would like the engine room/fore and aft torp rooms. Then again, people in hell want ice water and they are not getting that either:roll:. Oh well, here is to dreaming;)

Exactly. I can count on one hand the number of times I visited the captain's bunk in SH3.

Now if we had a captain's bunk like SH1 with a calendar of moon phases, etc, that may be worth it. But putting it in just to have it seems a waste of resources to me!

And that will make the game better how? I would like to see improvements to gameplay, not more useless (To Me) eye candy that we'll look at 2 or 3 times tops.

If they add anything at all it should be more ships...not more compartments.

Personaly i'd prefer the same liberty of movement like on the bridge in the rest of the existing compartments/stations.
Id would be great going to the backside of the bridge(not jump to the AA station)to "park" your sub into a harbour, ready to take of after refit...:hmm:

Rich I'll tell you what - I'd like to see every nook and cranny of the boat modelled, from bow to stern! And not a 3-D image projected onto my 2-D monitor, but something more along the lines of the Holodeck in Star Trek NG. So I can feel the periscope handles under my sweaty palms, and feel the rubber eye-cup pressing against my eye, and smell the reek of my unwashed crew, and when a DC goes off nearby I'm actually knocked off my feet!

But that's not gonna happen, we can only take what we can get and be glad we got it. We've asked for patches, and we've got 2 so far and hopefully a 3rd one is coming. Fixing the systems that don't work is what matters, not getting an extra compartment or 2 that you might look at a couple times then forget about totally.

Hope you won't leave us just because others have disagreed with you.

i hope not.

There are too many important bugs to spend time with new compartments, and it could take a lot of time.

Also, could be not important in gameplay, for example in sh3 stay a lot of time in the captain room looking the bed and doing nothing.
itīs not the case of sh1, where the captain room, in 2d was used for the calendar, recon book, and captain log.

You all know perfectly well its not going to be officialy done...... We had to put pressure on just to get this patch into the works to fix some bugs. Its quite obvious the mods are trying to fix the little bugs ASAP so they can work on other projects :-?

More content for the game will have to come from the community
