I don't want any ship I see to show up on the map so I enabled "no god view" however I have now lost my sonar lines....any thought on how to keep the sonar lines with out the ships showing up

I haven't found a way other than to plot the bearing lines manually using the compass and ruler.
This has been asked a lot of times, and still I have not taken the time to save a copy of the reply, so I need to write it down all again :damn:
Use the assisted plotting mod included in RUB, or manually change all the ".shp" graphics in Sea/Whatever unit to transparent ones (Blank Alpha channel) but leave the "ContLine.tga" as it is in Data/Menu/Gui
Doing that you should no longer see ship silhouettes in the map, but you will see sonar lines when submerged:up:
I found that plotting from hydrophone operator reports quite amusing but time consuming. That's why one has officers on board. So I returned to my old ways at 64 percent ;)

Same here. I'm the Captain..........I shouldn't have to do all that stuff myself.

Most people will probably already know what i'm about to describe...but for me it was a moment of pure discovery a couple of days ago :D
If you have sonar lines you can work out a solution in a much easier way than using your scope. You order the SO to track the closest merchant, go to scope but don't raise it, just start the stopwatch.
Then, go to the nav map and select the compass tool. Draw a circle centered on your sub and place the arrow mark of the compass drawing right where the sonar line ends.
If you zoom in long enough the compass line disappears, leaving only the compass cursor, so this way you can click right on top of where your SO estimates range to the contact. Wait 3:15 and repeat.
If you are running GWX you can start the stopwatch early, go to the nav map and drag the repeater stopwatch to a visible location. Then wait for a nice round number (e.g. 30 secs) before plotting. This way you will have to add 30 secs of initial "dead time" to plotting procedure...
1st plot @ 3:45 instead of 3:15
2nd plot @ 7:00 instead of 6:30
and so on. The apparent advantage to this is that you don't miss any seconds at all switching between views and selecting mapping tools. You just wait with your compass cursor following the sonar line and click when you see the repeater stopwatch reach 30 secs.
After all of this (which is easier done than described) you select the ruler and join the arrow points of all the compass marks. That's the target's course. Also, the distance between two consecutive arrow marks in metres is 1/10th of the target's speed (the 3:15 rule/method), eg for 0.8km speed is 8kts.
Following Wazoo's tutorial this is enough (with your sub's course) to set up a fast-90 method attack. The interesting part would be to see if we could launch without ever raising the scope. I suspect it can be done, but the whole thing is highly dependant on the SO's accuracy in calling out the contacts bearing. Then you slightly raise the scope (not above the surface), point to the called bearing and shoot. The obvious drawback is that you don't have any visual idea about the target's aspect angle, so it will be harder to lead the target.
This is a screen (a bit clutterd i admit) of me tracking a DD with this method, while evading in Scapa Flow. That's when it struck me that i could make the marks with the 3:15 rule, join them and forgo the scope observation's.

Hitman said it best. The Assisted Plotting Mod removes all visual contacts from the maps. If you move the cursor around as it passes over ships you will see a dotted circle and the name "Contact", or "Unknown". Once you identify a target with the periscope or UZO (or have the Weapons Officer do it for you), it will then show up on the map with the proper information.
But the sonar lines will still work.
