Can't load any save game

Hi!

Yesterday I reinstalled SHIII, patch 1.4, NYGM 2.5 (with the Generic mod...) and played it for several hours because I've upgraded my computer with much more RAM. Everything was fine and I made about seven save games. Today I can't load any save game, it crashes to desktop when "initializing...". Now I know from last fall that you have to make two save games in a row and load the second last one. I forgot this and loaded the last one first with the obvious crash. Is it possible that this mistake could have "infected" all the other saved games for this career, or is it somethíng more fundamentally wrong going on?

Also my last captain from the fall 2006 reappeared after the reinstall. Don't really know why. What do you recommend me to do?

Do I understand you correct:

There is no change in your system or game, between making the saves and loading them?
As I read correct then the reinstallation nor the harwdare upgrade have anything to do with your problem..

Don't know about that two savegames in a row thing.

That sounds suspiciously like you didn't delete your old SH3 folder in 'My Documents' before re-installing? That way your old stuff would still be there. Also according to what I've read hereabouts, it can screw up a fresh install.

Others more knowledgeable will hopefully come along soon.

Oh, and I haven't heard the business about two saves before either...
